The adidas James Harden Vol. 1 signature sneaker is finally here!
The designers at adidas used advanced technology to check a number of things about Harden on the court, which includes his stress patterns and particular movements. With Harden’s history of injuries, especially to his toes, adidas have conjured the perfect shoes that activates a full-length boost cushioning, asymmetrical lacing to relieve pressure and tension, and leather in the toe box area to comfort and protection from getting stepped on.
Harden described in detail what it was like to create a shoe made just for him.
“This was my first time creating a shoe from the ground up. With adidas, we wanted to stand for something different, be true to who we are and that’s how we separate ourselves,” Harden said. “This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and all the work we put in together is what makes this genuine. We’re open to each other’s opinions and we weren’t going to just put shoes on the shelves and say ‘This is James Harden.’ It’s built for how I play and you’ll see my style, different moods, the little details and stories that represent who I am.”
Harden added, “People always ask me, ‘How are you different?’ It’s hard to explain how you’re different but the shoe explains it for me.”
The sneaker includes not one, but four different colorways: “Home,” “Cargo,” “Gila Monster” and “Pioneer”.
To bring forth the adidas Harden Vol. 1 Pioneer colorway, its history trails back to celebrating his championship game performance in March 2007. In honor od a young and hungry Harden (not forgetting beardless), the “Pioneer” is equipped with a black nit upper – not primeknit, white leather toe shroud, and red accents.
The “Pioneer” Harden Vol. 1 will release on Dec. 3rd for $140 on adidas.com. But don’t worry, all the colorways will launch throughout the season. Also, be sure to lookout for the Harden apparel collection that’ll release this fall.
